Trees can Bring Back Our Planet to State of Good Old Days - Let's Act Now
Given the present day challenges
of rising pollution, increased industrialization, the balance of nature is on
the verge of deterioration. The heat wave witnessed across the northern belt of
India is just one aspect of the same. It might be too late before we realise
the importance of bringing back this delicate balance. The temperature crossing
50 degree is a grave concern among environmentalists and we should wake up to
this on a priority basis. One person who has acted to restore this balance
decades ahead of time is Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Singh Insan.
“The most trees planted
simultaneously are 938,007, by 169920 participants led by Rev. Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan
in India, on 15th August 2009. The participants planted 6,873,451 trees in a
total of 8 hours. The event took place in 367 locations in India. The event was
organized by Shah Satnam Ji Green S Welfare Force Wing.” The Guinness World
Records LTD.

Reckless exploitation of nature
by human beings has imperiled the earth’s existence. Rising pollution, mounting
filth, dirty rivers, a restless ocean, and melting glaciers, all these are just
due to human insensitivity and interference. An obsession with industrial
progress has caused the man to lose sight of the tenuous ecological balance.
Therefore, Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan has acted to rectify the
precarious imbalance. On 29th April
2007, His Holiness had initiated a unique campaign in which every follower was
enjoined to plant at least 12 trees per annum. Not only in India, but in
several countries across the world, these drives are conducted simultaneously.
It is just not the plantation drive, but also the careful follow up and
nurturing of the saplings.
A saint loves everyone
selflessly, irrespective of any distinction. They believe in morality and
humanity, and always initiating the drives that give peace to the body, mind, and soul. The modern world is full of dirt and negative thoughts which are so
profound in the human mind that it is increasing hatred and tensions. One hand is
eating another. Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan (Patron, Dera Sacha Sauda) who has started 134 welfare works
and is also carrying them successfully, is a great lover of flora and fauna.
His Holiness strongly believes that trees are our ancestral property that not
only helps to clean the lungs of the environment but also helps in spiritual
upliftment. In the previous era Saints and great men used to stay in forests do
Yogic activities and mediation to turn inward to the souls and knowing the
ultimate reality of the universe.
The first fundamental fact of
turning inward is always to see that you are very near to nature in the fresh
atmosphere rich in oxygen, and without that realization, there is really no
spiritual process. The enlightenment
achieved by Lord Buddha was under the great Banyan tree. Green surrounding gives
immense pleasure to the soul and positive thinking to the mind. His Holiness
believes trees are like the children and we should care for them like our children.
When the child takes birth he fills the home with joy, same flower on trees
gives joyfulness to us.

When the child grows to adult and
starts earning, he reduces the workload of the parents as the trees grow from
a small seed to a full tree gives shade in summer and in winter the entire tree
falls down to indirectly provides us more sunlight and the atmosphere becomes
warmer. Children always take away the tensions and tiredness of the elders
whenever they feel, as the smiles on their faces give fresh life to the elders.
They recreate them with their innocent activities. Same wat trees, they take
away the polluted air from the environment and in return they give fresh purified oxygen.
The present world is the world of
anxiety, pugnacity, violence, and immorality. Good character is plural, not
singular, comprised of a family of positive traits manifest in one's thoughts,
feelings, and behaviors. Recent research findings show that character strengths
are related to positive thinking. His Holiness Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan believes that green
surrounding gives positive thinking that develops good moral character and that
is the base.
